Listening to the Today programme on Radio 4 this morning, as I do every morning, it was refreshing not to hear any interviews with politicians, or anyone else for that matter, talking about politics. This was due to the local and mayoral elections in England, and other Government elections in Scotland and Wales on this very day, and the rule that broadcasters are not allowed to talk politics.
Even so, the news is not an easy listen these days, but the absence of politics made me reflect on the future, knowing that politics, if it exists at all, will be very different to what it is today. For a start, with a financial crash seemingly on the horizon amid events related to various conflicts, rising temperatures driving climate change and disease, there will have to be a complete shift in priorities for all authorities, including the government. It will be a very challenging and testing time for all people around the World.
But authorities facing a structural collapse in the financial world that will have an immediate impact on all people’s lives will no doubt have to keep cool heads to deal with the panic, unrest and trauma this crash will cause. It could also be the start of a change in politics itself, as people's needs will no doubt require more unique and urgent responses that only local authorities and others in the UK regions with the right skills can address. Central government will be superfluous. This, of course, will be replicated worldwide. And with power and wealth having been pulled out from under the feet of those who seek it to inflate and burnish their egos, evil will have lost its stranglehold.
As it stands, politics are the schemes and manipulations of power and authority, mostly, usually for their own ends. So, politics in the future will be different, so different perhaps the word won’t exist, and generosity of spirit and graciousness will rule in a world governed by the Natural Law. Teachers and leaders will be invited to perform their duties by the people who have elected them in recognition of their gifts and natural prowess, and will do so under the guidance of Spirit at all times.
This coming together for the good of everyone is one of the joys to look forward to, along with an understanding of Spirit and the Natural Law, and an acceptance that the Great Mind, with concern, is always in control.
